My personal fitness philosophy can be summed up in one word… balance. Of course, this applies in a myriad of life’s situations. One should always try to keep the ying and yang from over-running each other to avoid the ills of excess.
As far as fitness and health are concerned, there are six major areas to be addressed:
- Muscular strength and endurance
- Cardiovascular endurance
- Proper nutrition
- Positive mental attitude
All of the areas have equal importance to the overall effect on your health and well-being. Without all the pieces of the puzzle coming together, a number of problems can occur.
For example, you can risk injury, develop deficiencies, or even increase your chances of various diseases.
Common sense applies to most experiences in life quite well, and health and fitness is no exception. Too much of one thing, means there will be too little of something else.
As with all aspects of life, finding the perfect balance is not always easy. It’s a very personal matter concerning your goals, abilities, schedule, and determination.
What’s perfect for me, will not be for you. That’s where the „personal” in personal training comes in.
The program we develop together will make the most out of your preferences, situation, and time. I’m empathetic to your particular situation, but will not tolerate flimsy excuses and needless whining. The extent to which I can push you will be dictated by our initial consultation, and the cues (concious and subconcious) that I receive from you throughout the workouts.
I’m not a drill instructor by nature, but can be if necessary! I truly want you to succeed in your health and fitness endeavors!
