ABOUT: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Where do you train your clients?
I focus my business on offering the ultimate in personalized fitness instruction by training my clients in their own homes, offices, or outdoors in convenient locations throughout the Santa Fe area. Fitness hikes and mountain bike trips are also available in Hyde Memorial State Park and the Santa Fe National Forest.
How long do sessions last?
Generally, sessions will be 50-60 minutes long depending upon your exercise regimen for the day. If necessary, longer sessions can be arranged. Fitness hikes and mountain bike trips are a two hour minimum.
How many days per week will we meet?
Depending on your particular needs and abilities, I recommend between 3-5 sessions per week. Anything less will only maintain your current fitness levels, and we’re looking to improve them!
How long must I train with you?
Once again, it totally depends on your needs. To ensure that you have complete understanding of the program designed for you, the minimum time length is three months. Most clients continue on for much longer periods. Many enjoy the benefits of having a trainer available on a continual basis for the utmost in variety, safety, efficacy, and consistency. My longest client relationship lasted for 7 years!
I don’t have any exercise equipment at home. Will this be a problem?
Not at all. Aside from me bringing plenty of equipment with me to our sessions, I also design and install home gyms.
How much space do I need for a home gym?
There’s no one-size-fits-all requirement for a home gym. I can show you a great workout utilizing nothing but your own bodyweight! Of course, the more space that you can allocate for the gym will benefit you in the long run with increased possibilities.
I have some previous injuries (back problems, knee problems, etc.) Will this be a problem?
Definitely not. I have worked hand-in-hand with nutritionalists, chiropractors, physical therapists, and doctors, to make sure the client receives the safest exercises available. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!
I’m a woman, won’t weight training will make me bulky?
Rest assured, you will not get bulky from weight training. Women have very low testosterone levels, and therefore will have an extremely difficult time developing large muscles. Even if you requested a body building program, it would take years and years to make a significant difference in muscle size. Keep in mind that muscle burns lots of calories, which elevates your metabolism, which in turn allows you to eat more food without getting fat!
Is is possible to target fat loss on specific areas of the body?
Aside from liposuction…no. Your body will use its fat stores from wherever it naturally occurs first. Everybody is different in this respect, which may seem as a blessing or a curse, so don’t compare yourself to anybody else in this regard.
